I was lucky to grow up in the northern countryside and as the daughter of a vet we were surrounded by a lot of animals. Horses played a big part in my early years and with a lot of support and ferrying around from my parents I competed internationally at under 18 level. I graduated the year before the 2008 financial crash when there were still more jobs than graduates but sadly the advice my parents gave me was to choose something “useful”. I chose audit. It didn’t last long. Instead, I went to the world of online retail which has taken me to more exciting places than you might imagine! I spent a sunny stint in Tel Aviv with a robotics scale up before launching theMakings during the lockdown of 2020.

Sports coaching played a big role in the success I achieved early on and having a coach was a given. It made me wonder. Why isn’t it a given that we have coaches throughout our work and life like we do in sport? To make a good performance even better.

Our approach at theMakings has coaching at its core and individual performance and contribution as its focus.
